What is the easiest / cheapest way to travel in Europe, if I'd like to visit many countries in 3 weeks?

I'm starting to plan a trip around Europe, but have no idea how I will travel between countries. What's it like out there? I'd like to keep costs at a minimum, but still used some kind of transportation that is not a bike or on foot, or hitch-hiking ;)What is the easiest / cheapest way to travel in Europe, if I'd like to visit many countries in 3 weeks?Hi, Backpacking is definitely the cheapest way. There is a thing called 'couch surfing' which keeps your lodging costs at virtually nothing.

If you are not comfortable with that there are hostels all over Europe that offer inexpensive nightly rates.

Also, using the train will be helpful. You will be smart to try to plan ahead a bit so you know what cities are less expensive than others and perhaps bring a list of the cheapest hostels and train routes with you so you don't end up spending more than you hoped.

Have a great time!
