Who designs the transformers toys and how do they do it?

the transformers toys are really cool and its amazing how complicated some of the them are. how do they do it?Who designs the transformers toys and how do they do it?Sometimes Hasbro gets it right.

The Transformer design are licensed from Takara, (a japanese company).

How do they design them, I don't know what software or creative techniques they employ. All I know is that, my son who use to collect them often compare the newer transformers to the older ones they made in the 80s as garbage. He says the older ones were more creative.

All I know is that the prices for these toys are still as expensive as they were back in 1986 LOL!
