Where should I travel to in the United States?

I am planning on traveling around the US after graduation and am wondering on where I should travel to and where I should stay. I am interested in going to the "country", and basically anywhere although I don't want to go to big cities because I am a small town girl.

colorado
Go visit San Diego, California. It's extremely nice there, great weather, a beach, friendly people and its impossible to get bored there.

The Great Lakes!

Colorado!

Don't go to any swampy states (it sucks).

Come over to Arizona and visit the almighty Grand Canyon (not during May, June, July, August or September because it gets over 110 degrees nonstop) but come during Winter and Arizona is just perfect.
Pick four or five states and see a little of each. I reccommend New York, Florida, Texas, California and Tennessee. That way you get to experience a little of each and they are all very different.
Here is on place out of many:

You should go to Texas.

It's where I'm from and it has a very diverse landscape. You can drive a few hours and see almost every kind of landscape America has to offer. It's a really beautiful state. There are big cities and plenty of small towns. You can probably just Google small towns in Texas and find the home pages of tons of towns. Most of them have quaint little family owned hotels, which are much better to stay in than the chain hotels in my opinion.

Also, if you ever get tired of small towns, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin are all really fun big cities. I recommend a visit to San Antonio, which is a truly awesome city! It feels like a small town and there are some incredible hotels on the river walk, although they can get a little pricey. It's covered with history and everywhere you turn there's a party, an outdoor concert, or an awesome little art store! It's probably one of my favorite cities in Texas!
You should consider visiting Red River, New Mexico. It's not a large town, but it's not a podunk little ghost town. There's lots of stuff to do there like skiing and other things involving snow depending on when you go. There are many other town near there with other activities and mountain tours on a jeep. Hiking is a really popular activity there. There's beautiful landscape, forests, and clear streams.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourself.
i would say you have ot visit NYC but since you dont like big cities then i dont know maybe Rochester or Buffalo
May I suggest North Carolina! ^_^
