Mileage expense: I have to travel around 258 miles for job that is apart from 25 miles travel to my Employers.

I have Gas Receipts and also Toll Receipts for the travel of 258 miles that I travel. Is the expense Tax Deductible?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.Mileage expense: I have to travel around 258 miles for job that is apart from 25 miles travel to my Employers.IRS approved rate per mile for business is 50.5 centsMileage expense: I have to travel around 258 miles for job that is apart from 25 miles travel to my Employers. You can claim the IRS approved $/mile on your tax return if your employer does not pay you back. However, the total of all non-reimbursed job expenses must exceed a percentage of your income... I think 7%.

Unless it was for a job interview... then I *think* you may claim it as a job hunting expense...
