2) A valid non electronic round trip airline ticket.
3) An address in the Philippines you will be located. I just name a hotel or resort I will visit.
4) Do not bring cash, use an ATM card. Be sure the card has machines in the location you will visit and contact your bank in person that you will be using that ATM card in Philippines.
5) Make a copy of your passport, credit and ATM cards kept in a safe place in case they are lost.

If you're going as a tourist you'll need a current passport and any health shots you may need.
Take your visa card to use as there are plenty of outlets there. Also you can convert your currency at the international airport before you leave. Watch out for pick pockets over there as they're in abundance.
Your boyfriend's income won't even be looked at as you're going as a tourist.

What part of the Philippines are you planning to visit, remember the 21 day limit on your stay, and go and get an extention if you need to before it's expired.

I have only used E-tickets since 2002. They are not a problem at all.
