I'm an American with one felony conviction. I know Soviet Canada will not allow me to travel to their "fair" land. But I was wondering how hard it is for a convicted felon to get into America legally. Can a convicted felon travel to the United States legally? You may need to contact the US Department of Homeland Security to find out what your limitations are as far as coming into the country legally. Depending on what type of felony you were convicted of. You may be denied access from coming into the United States.

Check with DHS and find out what your options are.Can a convicted felon travel to the United States legally? If you're on parole, there are limits to your travel as set by statute, and monitered by your parole officer. They can allow travel to different states for certain circumstances depending on how you're doing with your parole behavior.

If you are thru parole, and no other supervision required, you can go anywhere in the U.S. freely. If your felony falls into certain catagory's like sexual predator or violent offender, you have to register with the local authority's. Other than that, you can go anywhere in the land of the free.
