How old do you have to be to travel to another country wtihout an adult?

I will be 18 this summer and I'm going to Japan to visit friends my aunt doesn't want to have to come if she doesn't have to because it is so pricy. So legally at 18 you are an adult in the U.S. So can you travel alone? Someone told me you have to be 19 which i thought was weird but then again the drinking law is 21 even though your legally and adult at 18. So i don't know if there is some sort of weird rule for traveling too.How old do you have to be to travel to another country wtihout an adult?Yes, you can travel internationally alone at age 18.

Americans can visit Japan as a tourist without a visa so the Immigration Officer probably won't ask you anything. However, be prepared to answer:

What is the nature of your visit? (visit relatives)

How long will you stay? (have a copy of your return airline ticket on you)

Where will you stay? (have the phone number and street address of wherever you will stay)How old do you have to be to travel to another country wtihout an adult?Any age, as long as you get your parents permission! But when you're you're 18, you dont need your parents permission! How old do you have to be to travel to another country wtihout an adult?I agree with Brian.

Can you answer mine?
