What civil engineering firm has travel oppurtunities?

I am about to graduate with a degree in civil engineering, and I would really like to get a job where I could travel and work in the field. I wouldn't mind working around the country or world, but most companies have only desk jobs. Any info would be greatly appreciated. What civil engineering firm has travel oppurtunities?keweitt-----and their various entities...I like the sound of their jobs from their recruiters and people I graduated with who work for them. They move to a new project about every 18 months....my friend has worked for them 2 yrs and has been on a job in the rockies drilling tunnels and is now in DC working construction.....any large contracting company would love to have a civil who is willing to relocate regularly. My first employer moved me around to various jobs..put me up in nice condos at the new project (I stayed in the same condos in KC as the cheifs) and paid my utilities, travel, and generous per deiums. What civil engineering firm has travel oppurtunities?Contact large firms and inquire about their international projects. You can also talk to the civil engineering department at your university and speak to a career counselor; they are sure to have a lot of contacts and familiarity with the industry. Good luck!

I'm a civil engineering student too, but I'm just getting started so I'm about four years away from where you are now. I can tell you that here in Quebec there is an enormous increase in infrastructure renewal, since the public (and the government) were alerted to the appalling state of our highway system after the collapse of an overpass in Laval two years ago. If you speak French (or are willing to learn) the opportunity here is unlimited. Also, in Western Canada (Alberta and Saskatchewan) there are enormous projects relating to resource development; you may want to investigate that too. What civil engineering firm has travel oppurtunities?depending on your education, you have a few options:

construction industry - hires engineers, and often have jobs all over the world.

bridge inspection - any company that does a lot of this will send you places

very large design firms - have offices all over the world, pay attention within the office for opportunities

where are you graduating from? is a master's degree a posibility for you? if so, i highly reccomend it, its a nice pay boost and puts you more in demand.
