I am considering a position at a travel agency (liberty travel) and I am trying to find out as much as possible to help me decide to make the jump from where I am now. It says in the description that it is a concierge type environment. Does that mean someone is at the door and delegates who gets which customer? Does this method work well for sales? What are the pros and cons of this? I would love to hear the real deal if anyone out there has worked for them. Thanks in advance. What does it mean be a Travel Agency with a conceirge type enviornment?Well at a hotel, a concierge will find you anything you need. Need to know where to go? Where to eat? Where to buy flowers? They'll get you a limo, concert tickets, whatever you want. They know exactly who to call or where to recommend. So I can only assume that in a travel agency you would have to put together whole trips, not just booking flights and cruises.
Say someone comes in and wants to take a vacation to Hawaii. You can have a car waiting for them, a luau to go to, a biking trip lined up around a volcano, things like that. A concierge is all about the extras.
