How old do you have to be to travel out of the country alone?

So i live in america and i want to travel to the uk , does anoybody know how old you have to be to travel out of the country without a parent or gaurdian? Im 14 , But i would like to travel in like 2 years so like when im 16 or 17.How old do you have to be to travel out of the country alone?There isn't a legal minimum. You have to be old enough to rent a car in foreign countries in order to travel outside of the U.S. which in most cases is 25. They do this to prevent you from hitchhiking and squatting. It happened to me when I was 20. I purchased the ticket just fine and got on the plane but when I arrived in Paris I was arrested almost immediately off the plane, put onto another plane and sent back the the states. Never got my luggage back either, they told me it was being "temporarily confiscated" but that was 3 years ago.
