The question i have is how does radiation from cell phones etc., travel through the window of my car. Into my house and through the walls. I was under the impression of looking at this as a solid passing through a solid? Thats why i'm a little confused. How can something made up of particles that need to keep form i guess pass through solids? Thanks in advance. How does radiation travel through windows or walls?Electromagnetic radiation like radio waves are not solid. They are vibrations propogating through electromagnetic fields.
You are confused because sometimes radiations like photons behave like particles, sometimes like a wave phenomenon. They are like "wavicles". At different frequencies in the EM spectrum, different characteristics dominate.
